Dandeli: A 22-year-old youth, Joseph Amrit, lost his life in a road accident near Janta Colony on Joida-Dandeli Road.

Joseph, a resident of Dandeli, was riding pillion with two friends when he panicked upon seeing an oncoming high-speed vehicle and jumped off the moving bike. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Dandeli Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
