Dead dolphin washes ashore in Karwar

Karwar: The carcass of a dolphin belonging to Indo-Pacific Hump Back species was washed ashore at Ravindranath Tagore Beach here, on 23rd March, Friday evening.

Marine biologist Prof. Shivakumar Haragi, who visited the spot, dolphin was 2.5 metre long, and 15 years of age. It had died a day back, and reason for the death was not known, he said. The carcass was buried at the beach itself.
