Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Wednesday said a decision on reopening primary schools and relaxation of Covid restrictions in border districts will be taken soon after a meeting of the experts committee.
"A meeting will be held with the Covid experts committee soon after Dasara to discuss the situation and a decision on relaxing the restrictions in border districts and reopening primary schools, will be taken thereafter," he told reporters at the Mangaluru Airport.
He said experts are assessing the situation in the districts of Karnataka bordering Kerala and Maharashtra.
Trials of Covid vaccination for children aged between 2-18 years are in the final stage, Bommai said.
"Children and adolescents will be vaccinated soon. Karnataka is in the forefront of vaccination," the Chief Minister said.
Replying to a query, Bommai also said a decision on withdrawing cases against people for violating Covid norms will be taken after consulting police officials.
