25,045 New Youth Voters Join Electoral Roll in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru: The voter registration campaign is currently underway in Dakshina Kannada district, with 25,045 individuals who have reached the age of 18 being newly registered.

According to the records, there are 45,530 youths who have turned 18 in the district. District Election Officer  Mullai Mugilan mentioned that only 25,045 people have successfully registered their names on the voter list, leaving 20,494 applications pending. The district administration is actively working to add these pending applications to the voter list.

Form-6 applications of 3,742 youth voters are awaiting processing. This process is expected to be completed soon, and eligible candidates will be added to the voter list. The Election Commission currently designates four eligibility dates each year for voters to register their names. Those who turn 18 on the 1st of January, April, July, and October are allowed to add their names to the electoral roll.

December 9 is the final date for the inclusion of names of youth voters in the current registration cycle. Voters can download the mobile app "VOTER HELP LINE" from the Google Play Store and submit Form-6. District Election Officer Mullai Mugilan noted that voters can also apply for inclusion in the voter list on the website voters.eci.gov.in or by submitting the Form-6 application to the booth level officer at their respective polling station.

The newly added youth voters in various constituencies are as follows: Belthangadi Assembly Constituency (3,471), Moodbidre (2,707), Mangalore City North (3,235), Mangalore City South (2,635), Mangalore (3,171), Bantwala (3,502), Puttur (3,187), and Sulya (3,137)

District Election Officer Mullai Mugilan urged young voters to seize this opportunity to add their names to the voter list.
