Yallapur: A 44-year-old driver killed on the spot, when the tanker he was driving turned turtle at Arbail hills in the taluk on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as A Mohammed Baruk Abusahib, a resident of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

Sources said that heavy speed and negligence of driver was the reason for the accident. The incident took place when Abusahib was moving towards Ankola from Yallapur.

CPI Manjunath Naik visited the spot and registered a case in this regard.
