Yellapur: An elderly woman committed suicide by hanging to the roof of her house in Tumbebedi village in Yellapur on 22nd November, Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Seeta Anant Nurmane (80), a resident of Tumbebedi in the taluk.

Sources said that she had been under depressed stage since the death of her husband two years back. Though then, she was mentally depressed, for which it is suspected that she might have taken this extreme step.

A case has been registered in Yellapur police station.
