Puttur: An 15-year-old girl student, hailing from Kokkada took her own life by consuming poison on Sunday.

The  deceased has been identified as Rekha.

Rekha's mother had sadly passed away last year, leaving her deeply distraught. Initially, she stayed with relatives in Kokkada and attended school from there. However, she eventually joined the hostel recently.

A case has been filed at Puttur Town police station.
