Bhatkal: A house caught fire at Hanuman Nagar of Bhatkal Taluka on Friday, 3rd June when the members of the house were out for work. 

It is reported that this house belonged to Dilshad Begum and a tenant named Gouse Mohammed Mohiuddin was residing at this place. He said that, they were out for work when the mishap occured due to the short circuit. Along with the ceiling, the furniture, electronic devices and household items were reduced to ashes. Upon seeing the fire, neighbours called the fire brigade team and tried to extinguish the fire themselves by spraying water all around but  in vain. Fire brigade arrived later and stopped the fire from spreading futher. PSI Revathi, Hescom Officers and Tahsildar visited the spot and scrutinized the damages. 

President of District Panchayath Jayashri Moger, Hescom Assistant Engineer Manjunath Naik, Block congress President Vittal Naik, Jali Pattan Panchayath members Nagraj Naik arrived at the spot and inspected the damage and expressed their condolences. Hescom Assistant engineer Manjunath Naik has agreed to help in every way possible.
