Kumta: The two days open district level football tournament "Revanth 7-A side football cup-2016" begins with a inauguration ceremony which is organised by the Revanth welfare association in taluka stadium Manki ground here at Kumta.

The programme commenced in the morning around 11:00am, held under the presidency of Subraya Walke. The programme was inaugurated by Miss Meera Nayak whereas the playground was inaugurated by Suraj Naik Soni.

Chief guests were Miss Meera Nayak, retired headmistress of Herwatta school and Dheeraj Naidu, significant member of Revanth welfare association. Other guests of honour included Suraj Naik Soni, Vice-president, Karnataka state kabaddi association and Muhammad Zafarullah Shaikh, socialist of Kumta. The chief guests and other guests addressed their views on the tournament; encouraged and motivated the organisers through their ideas. The programme was compered over Manjunath, member of association.

The first match was played immediately after the ceremony between Kumta's REV FC and Sirsi's Don Bosco, in which Kumta's REV FC won by 2-1 points. The league matches will be played till today evening, while the semis will commence tomorrow following the finals in the evening at 5:30pm.
