Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) Narcotics Control Unit in Bengaluru, in coordination with Customs officials, seized drugs valued at ₹21.17 crore during a major operation at the city’s Foreign Post Office. A total of 606 parcels containing various illegal substances were discovered, having been smuggled into India from countries such as the US, UK, Belgium, Thailand, and the Netherlands.

The operation, which involved the inspection of over 3,500 suspicious packages with the help of a canine squad, led to the detection of drugs including hydro ganja, LSD, MDMA crystals, ecstasy tablets, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, charas, and ganja oil. Authorities believe the parcels were sent via the Indian Postal Service, intending to distribute the drugs at high prices in Bengaluru.

Further investigation revealed that the smugglers were part of an extensive drug trafficking network that catered to specific clients in the city. This raid is the latest in a series of actions by the CCB, which has already registered 12 cases and made numerous arrests related to drug trafficking this year.

Additionally, three individuals were taken into custody in September in connection with multiple cases, including those registered at HSR Layout Police Station and the CCB Station. The Foreign Post Office bust is part of a wider effort by Bengaluru authorities to crack down on drug smuggling and dismantle such networks.
