Bhatkal: RSA Manki clinches AUZ BMYF TROPHY-25 defeating Royal in one-sided final

Bhatkal: The AUZ BMYF TROPHY-25 T20 cricket tournament, organized by the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF), concluded on Tuesday after a month-long series of matches. In the final match, RSA Manki, a strong and dominant team from the neighboring village of Manki, showcased an outstanding performance to defeat Bhatkal’s Royal team effortlessly, claiming the winner’s trophy along with a cash prize of ₹75,000. Meanwhile, Royal had to settle for the runner-up trophy and ₹45,000 in cash.

The final match remained one-sided, as Manki easily secured victory by six wickets. Royal, once considered a powerhouse in Bhatkal cricket, won the toss and opted to bat first. However, their batting lineup failed to deliver, getting all out for just 132 runs on the fifth ball of the 20th over.

Fauzan Armar, batting at number five, made a valiant effort to stabilize the innings, scoring 45 runs off 26 balls with six boundaries and a six. Despite his efforts, other players struggled against Manki's bowlers. Mohammed Ekkeri contributed 19 runs, Afeef Barmavar 17, and Talha 12.

Mustafa Sawda from Manki played a crucial role in dismissing Royal's top three batters, setting the stage for his team's victory. Additionally, Sahil Sawda and Rohan Katpadi's exceptional bowling dismantled Royal’s batting order.

While chasing the modest target, Manki faced an early setback as Royal took two quick wickets to inject some excitement into the match. However, opener Aqib Sawda stood firm like a wall, steering his team towards victory with a match-winning knock of 52 runs off just 30 balls, including three sixes and seven fours. Abdul Razzaq Sawda and Shazman Qazi then ensured a smooth finish, remaining unbeaten at 37 and 17 runs, respectively. Abdul Razzaq particularly shined, smashing three consecutive sixes in the last three balls of the 16th over, wrapping up the tournament well before the Asr prayer.

A total of 34 teams participated in the tournament, including various teams from Bhatkal, as well as those from Murdeshwar and Manki.

The final presentation ceremony was graced by dignitaries such as Ateequr Rahman Muniri (Secretary General, Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council), Abdul Raqeeb MJ Nadvi (General Secretary, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal), former BMYF president Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, Jali Panchayat Vice President Advocate Imran Lanka, and others. These esteemed guests distributed prizes to outstanding performers.
