Bhatkal: In response to growing concerns over the questionable sale and purchase of beef, the century-old social organization Majlis e Islah Wa Tanzeem has appealed to all Muslims in the area to refrain from consuming beef until the next announcement is made by the Tanzeem. The Tanzeem has explicitly instructed the Muslim community in Bhatkal to stop purchasing beef until the complete cessation of the supply of suspected beef.
In recent weeks, social media has been inundated with reports of stolen cattle and the trade of illicitly obtained cattle meat, causing distress among the Muslim community in Bhatkal. Pending a thorough examination of the evidence, the Tanzeem has advised people not to consume beef.
During a recent meeting, Bhatkal's Qazis, scholars, and Tanzeem office bearers engaged with meat traders to address the situation. It was revealed that some meat traders were involved in dealing with suspicious meat and had connections with dubious individuals. The meeting expressed deep concern and underscored the imperative of selling only pure and halal meat, warning that the sale of haram meat would not be tolerated.
To rectify the situation, the Tanzeem has formed a committee tasked with restoring the meat business to a healthy state. This includes putting a halt to the slaughter of suspicious animals and the supply of dubious meat. The committee has been directed to address all matters within the stipulated ten-day period.
