Bhatkal: A 24-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Hanuman nagar in Bhatkal on Saturday.

The deceased youth has been identified as Ishwar Manjunath Naik. He was employed in a bakery in Hanuman Nagar. It is learned that before 10 AM he had spoken to his colleague on the phone and informed that he would be some time late to the duty today, but when colleague called him back at 10 AM, there was no response, after which it was found that he had committed suicide by hanging himself in his own house. The cause of suicide is not known.

Deceased Ishwar has two sisters, out of which the elder sister is married, he lived in the house with his parents and younger sister. It is reported that no one was present at the time of the incident.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station.
