Bhatkal: A significant election took place at the century-old prestigious organisation, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, resulting in the election of Mr. Mohammed Yunus Qazia as the new President, with Mr. Ishaq Shabandri stepping in as the General Secretary.

The election convened on Sunday in the Anjuman meeting hall, witnessed by 80 executive members. Supervised by the Election Commissioner, Mr. Abdul Wajid Kola, the process smoothly led to the appointment of the new office bearers.

Mr. Yunus Qazia, esteemed for his business ventures in Dammam (Saudi Arabia) and his active participation in the Bhatkal Muslim Gulf Council, has dedicated over 35 years to Anjuman as an executive member. His roles extend beyond, having been a pivotal figure in several social organizations, including his presidency at the Canara Muslim Khaleej Council and the inaugural presidency of the Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. His contributions also span the revered Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal, among others.

Mr. Ishaq Shabandri, now General Secretary, previously contributed as the Additional General Secretary of Anjuman, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the institution.
