Bhatkal: Tragedy struck when two young men were involved in a motorcycle collision with an animal, resulting in a severe accident that led to head injuries for both riders. Regrettably, one of them succumbed to his injuries while the other remains in critical condition. This incident occurred on Talur National Highway, approximately 20 km from Karwar, around 11:30 pm on a late Saturday night.
According to sources, the two youths were en route to Karwar on their motorcycle for some errands when the accident occurred shortly before reaching their destination.
Local bystanders rushed to their aid upon finding both individuals lying on the road. Unfortunately, it has been reported that one of the victims passed away before they could be transported to the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Samiyan Gangavali (32), a resident of Bhatkal Shifa Cross. His body is expected to be brought to his uncle's residence in Bhatkal Madina Colony, near Abu Bakar Masjid. The injured youth has been identified as Tanveer Ahmed, who has been transferred to a hospital in Mangalore due to the severity of his head injuries. Although initially in critical condition, reports now indicate that he is out of immediate danger.
Mohammad Samiyan's remains are currently at Karwar Hospital, and the body will reach Bhatkal in the afternoon following post-mortem procedures.
