Udupi: A motorcyclist tragically lost his life when a large tree toppled onto the road in Belman in Karkala taluk.

During the incident, the biker became trapped beneath the fallen tree and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital, despite the efforts of local residents.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen Acharya.

As a result of the incident, the Karkala Padubidre State Highway was completely obstructed for several hours. Eventually, local residents and personnel from the forest department worked together to clear the fallen tree.

Authorities from the Karkala Rural Police Station have visited the incident site.
