Bhatkal: A tragic road accident occurred on Friday night near Manki, resulting in the death of a car driver and multiple injuries after a collision between a bus and a car on National Highway 66. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM, approximately 30 km from Bhatkal.

According to Zakir Katingeri, a social activist from Manki, the private bus was en route to Mumbai from Mangaluru, carrying around 35 passengers. As the car, traveling in the opposite direction, attempted to make a turn near the Manki petrol pump, a high-speed private bus bound for Mumbai collided with it. The impact was severe, causing the car's front panels to be blown off and the bus to overturn into a nearby ditch.
