Continued Rainfall in Uttara Kannada District, Waves Pound Shores

Karwar: On Sunday, the district experienced persistent rainfall, although the intensity slightly decreased compared to the past two days. 

Coastal taluks received light showers, with Karwar recording 5.7 cm of rain, followed by Bhatkal (4.9 cm), Ankola and Honnavar (2.8 cm each), Joida (2.5 cm), and Kumata (2.1 cm). Overall, the district received 2 cm of rainfall. 

Furthermore, the Arabian Sea is witnessing enormous waves as a result of the rain and strong winds. The fence at Shilpavan, located on Tagore Beach, was blown away by the gusty winds. In order to ensure visitor safety, police personnel have been deployed at the beaches due to the presence of tourists. 

Additionally, at Bhatkal and other locations, police personnel have been deployed to prevent anyone from entering the Arabian Sea.
