Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Orders Shutdown of Mushroom Unit Amidst Protests

Mangaluru: In response to the ongoing indefinite protest by members of the Whitegrove Mushroom Factory Horata Samiti against a mushroom unit in Vamanjoor, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar visited the site and issued an order for its closure on Sunday.

Following complaints from local residents about the unit emitting a foul stench and causing health issues, the officials were instructed to conduct an investigation and provide a detailed report. Based on the findings of the report, the decision to shut down the unit was made.

Dr. Y Bharath Shetty, the MLA for Mangalore City North, stood in solidarity with the protesters for the past two days.
