The local residents also emphasized the significance of cleaning and deepening the river. They urged the engineer to promptly submit a comprehensive report to the Deputy Commissioner. Furthermore, the engineer and the inspector were informed about the concerning issue of sewage being discharged into the river, resulting in its contamination. The residents suggested the installation of a drainage system to divert the wastewater away from the populated area, thereby ensuring the preservation of the river's integrity and preventing any adverse effects on the people residing along its banks.

Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, Jilani Shabandri, Mohiuddin Ruknuddin, and others were present during the visit.

It is worth noting that on Thursday, Mankal Vaidya, the district in-charge minister of Uttara Kannada, conducted an emergency meeting with district officials to assess the damages caused by heavy rains and discuss government measures. During the meeting, Qaiser Mohtisham, a local municipal councilor, and Inayatullah Shabandri, the President of the Social Organization Majlis Islahan Wa Tanzeem, raised the issue of cleaning the Sharabi river and pitching on its banks. In response, the minister instructed the engineer from the Minor Irrigation Department to visit the Sharabi river and submit a detailed report, focusing on the demands of the local residents and proposing solutions to address their concerns."
