Bhatkal: Two fishermen tragically drowned in the Arabian Sea when their small fishing boat capsized during a fishing expedition. The incident occurred between Sunday and Monday night in Shiroor Kesarkodi, within the jurisdiction of the Byndoor police station, approximately 15 kilometers from Bhatkal.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Mohammed Yusuf Musbah (48) from Bhatkal Qidwai Road and Abdul Sattar (47) from Shiroor.
Reports indicate that the two fishermen were on a small boat hunting for fish when, suddenly, the boat capsized in the middle of the sea, leading to both of them drowning.
Upon receiving information about the boat sinking around 3 o'clock in the night, Bhatkal social workers, including Imtiyaz Udayawar, Nasif Khalifa, Imshad Mukhtasar, and Irshad Siddiqua, promptly rushed to the scene to provide necessary assistance.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to Byndoor Government Hospital.
Upon receiving the accident report, Byndoor police also arrived at the scene to gather information about the incident. Police are investigating the case.
