Mangaluru: Dinesh Gundu Rao, the District Incharge Minister of Dakshina Kannada and the Minister of Health and Family Welfare Department, inaugurated the free bus travel scheme for women in government buses at the KSRTC bus stand in Mangaluru on Sunday.

After inaugurating the Shakthi program in Dakshina Kannada, Dinesh Gundu Rao expressed the significance of this momentous occasion. He reiterated the Congress party's steadfast dedication to fulfilling its promises to the public, regardless of caste, religion, or language.

The decision to swiftly implement all pledged programs was taken during the inaugural cabinet meeting of the Congress government, showcasing their commitment to progress. This comprehensive initiative aims to uplift and empower women, marking a significant milestone in the region's developmental journey.

The minister also urged commuters traveling to rural areas to responsibly utilize the services provided.

Gundu Rao further assured that all the assurances would be effectively implemented by the 15th of August, demonstrating their determination to bring about positive change.

The event was attended by Ravikumar M.R., the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Kumar, the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive, Kuldeep Kumar Jain, the Mangalore City Police Commissioner, Rishyant, the Superintendent of Police, Channabasappa, the Mangalore Corporation Commissioner, Krishnamurthy, the Additional DC, and Rajesh Shetty, the Control Officer of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Mangalore Division.
