Honnavar: An incident of gas-laden tanker overturning on NH-66 near Sharavati Circle in the heart of the city reported in the noon hours on Tuesday, as a result the driver of the was seriously injured.

Sources said that the accident happened on National Highway 66 when a tanker filled with gas was heading to Hubli from Mangaluru.  Following the mishap, small amount of gas leakage was detected which caused panic among the public. There has been disruption in the movement of vehicles on the highway.  

Police and fire brigade personnel have reached the spot and are monitoring the situation.
