Sirsi (DHNS): “I am not contesting the election as the ‘B’ team of Congress,” said Congress rebel candidate Venkatesh Hegde Hosabale.

Speaking at a press conference in Sirsi on Monday, Hosabale said that he is into politics for the last 30 years, and has engaged in organising the party and implementing public welfare programmes even when not in power. He has never stepped backward in politics. Now, he is being seen as a ‘B’ team in Congress. But in reality, such a situation has not arisen.

Cong ideology

“My style of campaigning is unique in Sirsi and Siddapur constituencies. I need not get publicity by garnering a huge crowd. I will submit my nomination papers on April 14 as a rebel candidate. Congress leaders have already contacted me and I made it clear to them that I will not step back. I will face the election with Congress ideology only,” Hosabale said.

His supporters Vinay Hegde and Vinayak Hegde were present.
