Bhatkal: An umbrella body of eight Bhatkal Jamaats established in different cities of India, the Indian Nawayat Forum (INF), has donated a Janaza Van (funeral van) to the 100-year-old prestigious Social Organization of Bhatkal, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem.

The Janaza van will benefit residents of Bhatkal town, especially those whose homes are far from the graveyards, by providing transportation for the deceased to the mosque for janaza namaz (funeral prayers) and to the burial site. This service will be offered free of charge within the town limits, including areas such as New Bhatkal colonies (Nawayat Colony, Madina Colony, etc.) and old Bhatkal streets (downtown area).

President of INF, Mr. S.M. Arshad, explained that the initiative arose from the need to replace the use of mini lorries for transporting deceased bodies from homes to mosques and other locations. The eight Bhatkal Jamaats under INF collaborated to fulfill this need and handed over the Janaza Van to the Tanzeem during the inauguration of the INF office in Bhatkal.

Mr. Arshad commended Mr. Ruknuddin Aslam and Mr. Iqbal of Bhatkal Anfal for previously providing their company's mini lorry free of charge for this purpose. General Secretary of Tanzeem, Abdul Raqeeb M.J. Nadvi, also appreciated their services and offered prayers for them.

A press release issued by Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem announced that the Janaza Van service would be available starting from the first week of July. Those needing the service can contact Mr. Kola Abdul Sami at 8971918484 or other members of the Tanzeem's Qabrastan Committee.

The Indian Nawayat Forum comprises eight Jamaats within India: Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Mumbai, Majlis-e-Andhra Nawayat, Bhatkal Muslim Association Chennai, Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Mangalore, Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bangalore, Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Kerala, Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Madikeri, and Bhatkal Muslim Association Kolkata.
