KARWAR: Ujwal Kumar Ghosh, Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district, has been transferred and posted as e-administration division chief executive officer, in Bengaluru.

2010 IAS batch, Ballari zilla panchayat officer SS Nakul has been appointed as new Deputy Commissioner of UK district.

Ghosh had taken charge as the Deputy Commissioner of UK district on September, 2014.

Ghosh had earned the love of the district people by taking up several pro-people works during his tenure, resulting in people giving him unofficial title- People’s DC. His work had also earned him few ‘haters’. The road expansion drive between Karwar-Kodibag had earned him dislike from few roadside shop owners and house owners.

The new DC SS Nakul was earlier posted in Tumkur as Asst Commissioner. He also worked as Director of IT & BT Bangalore and later posted as CEO zilla panchayat in Bagalkot then in Ballari.
