Mangaluru (DHNS): A 33-year-old man succumbed to burn injuries on Sunday.

According to Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, the youth has been identified as Harsha.

He attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol over himself and also on his wife. He suffered 75% burn injuries.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to the injuries.

His wife escaped unhurt, the police sources added.

It is said that the couple had certain unresolved disputes, which forced Harsha to take an extreme step. His wife is said to be seven months pregnant.

The Konaje police registered a case.
