Mangaluru: RPF personnel displayed remarkable courage when they rescued two passengers clinging to the handle of a moving train on Tuesday.

Sophia, a 50-year-old woman from Coimbatore, made an attempt to board the Mangaluru-Chennai Express train (number 12602) as it was departing from platform one. Unfortunately, she lost her balance and desperately clung to the coach's handle. Despite the efforts of her 31-year-old nephew, Abhilash, to assist her, the situation remained precarious.

Both passengers struggled to maintain their balance, and it was at this critical moment that P P Baburajan, a diligent member of the RPF staff on duty, swiftly came to their aid. Baburajan acted with great speed and managed to pull them back onto the platform.

Witnesses at the scene commended Baburajan's prompt response, emphasizing that any delay in his actions could have resulted in both passengers falling from the train.

As a consequence of the incident, Sophia sustained injuries to her knees. She was promptly provided with first aid at the RPF office, according to sources.
