Bhatkal: State Minister for Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Transport, Mankal Vaidya, Criticizes BJP's Hypocrisy on Cow Slaughter and Beef Export

During a media interaction, Mankal Vaidya expressed his criticism of the BJP, urging them to address the issue of slaughterhouses operated by their own members before discussing a ban on cow slaughter. He accused BJP leaders of running slaughterhouses and exporting beef to foreign countries. Vaidya claimed that many slaughterhouses are owned by BJP leaders who are actively involved in beef export.

Vaidya also questioned the media's focus on banning cow slaughter while neglecting to inquire about beef exports by those affiliated with the BJP. He emphasized that if BJP members cease their involvement in the beef business, there would naturally be a significant reduction in cow slaughter.

Speaking at the inauguration of Kandla Utsava at Kasarkode Eco Beach in Honavar taluk, located 30km from Bhatkal, Vaidya criticized the BJP for attempting to mislead and confuse the public. He accused the BJP of inciting discord against the current government and creating unnecessary obstacles.

Regarding textbooks, Vaidya noted that textbooks prepared during the Congress era have been widely used without significant problems. However, he questioned why issues with textbooks arose when the BJP came to power. Vaidya asserted that the strong Congress government in the state instilled confidence in the people.

Vaidya emphasized that the government will not allow the BJP to stoke communal tensions in the state through false statements. He criticized the BJP for alleged corruption, claiming they left after taking a 40% commission. In contrast, the current government has implemented programs and initiatives to alleviate the hardships faced by the people. Vaidya expressed the government's commitment to thoroughly investigate the discrepancies in the distribution of compensation to flood victims.

Regarding the increase in electricity rates, Vaidya attributed it to a decision made during the BJP's tenure. He criticized the BJP for failing to inform the public about the increase and misleading them. In contrast, the current government has announced free electricity up to 200 units and is striving to provide various forms of relief to the people.
