New office bearers elected for Uttara Kannada APCR; Dr. Zaheer Kola President, Advocate Afaq Kola General Secretary

Bhatkal: Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) elected new office bearers for Uttara Kannada district on Monday in which social worker Dr. Zaheer Kola was elected as the president, while Karnataka High Court lawyer Muhammad Afaq Kola as general secretary.

The election meeting was chaired under the presidency of Bhatkal's most influential social organization Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem, Mr. Inayatullah Shahbandri at the YMSA club in Nawayath Colony. The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Muhammad Amin Ruknuddin Nadvi. 

APCR State Executive Member Inayatullah Gawai welcomed the gathering, while Ziaur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi introduced APCR. 

Inayatullah Shahbandri, while presiding, praised the services of APCR and assured all possible cooperation from the Tanzeem to make this committee active in the district. After his address, the election process began. 

The names of the elected office bearers are as follows:

President: Dr. Zaheer Kola
Vice President: Muhammad Waseem Manna
General Secretary: Advocate Muhammad Afaq Kola
Joint Secretary: Maulana Muhammad Amin Ruknuddin Nadvi
Accountant: Abul Ala Burmawar
Treasurer: Muhammad Rameez Kola

Maulana Irfan SM Nadvi, Javed Hussain Armar, Muhammad Sadiq Matta, Muhammad Faizan Kasarkod, Muhammad Shamoon Haji Faqih and Muhammad Safwan Motia were also present in the meeting.

It may be noted that the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) is a national level non-governmental organization established in 2006 to protect civil rights and support the oppressed. The team comprises lawyers, social activists and legal aid providers.
