Bhatkal: The individual injured in a road accident in Bhatkal on November 24 sadly succumbed to his injuries at Udupi Hospital on the evening of December 6, Wednesday.

As previously reported, auto driver Javed (58) sustained serious injuries in a collision involving his auto-rickshaw and a pick-up van on National Highway 66, near City Light Cross in Nawayat Colony. After receiving initial first aid at Bhatkal Government Hospital, he was subsequently transferred to a private hospital in Udupi. Regrettably, Javed breathed his last on Wednesday evening.

The late Javed, originally from Chikmagalur, resided in Bhatkal's Azad Nagar 6th Cross.

The deceased's body is scheduled to be handed over to family members on Thursday following post-mortem and other necessary procedures. A close relative stated, "As soon as we receive the body, we will bring it to Bhatkal, to his residence." The body is expected to arrive in Bhatkal by Thursday afternoon. After offering final respects to relatives and friends in Bhatkal, it will be transported to the native village in Chikmagalur, where his brothers and other relatives reside. The Burial will take place in Chikmagalur itself.
