Bhatkal: A man from Bihar, who came to Bhatkal for plaster work, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a house in Hurulisaal, under the jurisdiction of Jali Patan Panchayat, within the Bhatkal rural police station's limits in the taluk on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Kumar Shyam Sha (27), hailing from Dabhari in Supaul district, Bihar. His brother had been working as a plasterer in Bhatkal for the past 14 years, while the deceased had been working as a plasterer in Bhatkal for the past 5 years. It is learned that his wife gave birth to a girl baby only 3 days ago.

It has also come to light that the deceased, Ranjit Kumar, talked with his wife and other family members over the phone in Bihar late last night. Surprisingly, this morning, his body was found hanging in his house.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal rural police station, and PSI Shridhar Naik is investigating the matter.
