Rain Preparedness: Uttara Kannada District Establishes Emergency Response Centers

Karwar: In response to the expected rough sea and heavy rains due to a depression over the southeast Arabian Sea, Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti has instructed officials to prioritize safety measures in the coastal areas of U-K district. As part of the preparedness, emergency response centers will be established in each taluk of the district. The DC has urged tourists and the public to avoid venturing into low-lying areas near water bodies, lakes, rivers, and beaches.

Furthermore, fishermen have been advised to refrain from fishing in the sea. District-level officials have been instructed to remain stationed at their headquarters during this period.
