Honnavar: The Rotary Club of Honnavar orchestrated a thrilling cycling spectacle, the 'Godwin Cycles Race,' on Sunday, February 25th. The 40-kilometer race, spanning from Honnavar to Kumta and back, witnessed an impressive turnout of more than 70 cyclists hailing from Uttara Kannada district, including Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, and Sirsi.
Under the auspices of Honnavar Civil Judge KumarJi, the event commenced with great fervor, flagged off at Honnavar. Gururaj N Hegde of Sirsi clinched the title, with Vishnu Todkar securing the runner-up position and Nagaraj Gawda claiming third place.
The race, organized in collaboration with Godwin Cycle Center Honnavar, was a testament to the community spirit and enthusiasm for cycling in the region. Deepak Lopes, President of Rotary Club of Honnavar, expertly compered the event, while Rtn Rajesh Naik expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.
Acknowledgments were extended to key figures including Muhammed Aqueel Quazi, Proprietor of Godwin Cycles Center, Imtiyaz Golsangi, Area Manager of Hero Cycles, and other esteemed guests like Stephen Rodrigues, Mahesh Kalyanpur, SM Bhat, and Ranganath Poojari. Rtn Shrikanth led as the chairman of the event, ensuring its smooth execution and success.
