Mangaluru: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Bantwal as a young man lost his life to electrocution while harvesting areca nuts from a tree in the Malaibettu area on Friday.

The victim, identified as Shafi (29) of Boliyar.

According to Sources, Shafi had recently purchased a fibre-based areca nut harvesting pole. However, a tragic accident unfolded when he lost control during the harvesting process. Unfortunately, the iron knife attached to the pole came into contact with an electric wire, resulting in a fatal electrocution.
