Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Vidyakumari has issued a warning to Facebook users regarding an impersonation incident involving a fake account in her name. Through her X (formerly Twitter) handle, the DC revealed the existence of the fraudulent Facebook account and urged users to report any suspicious activities or money requests emanating from it to the local police.

The DC clarified that, despite the account bearing her name, the associated mobile number did not belong to her. Fraudsters went a step further by sending messages to Tahsildars, prompting the DC to take immediate action.

A formal complaint has been lodged in connection with this deceptive activity.
