Udupi: Free Bus Service for Women Launched under Shakti Scheme by Laxmi Hebbalkar

Udupi: Udupi Distrcit In-charge and Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar flagged off the Shakti scheme at the KSRTC Bus Stand in Udupi on Sunday. 

After Inaugurating, Laxmi Hebbalkar emphasized the importance of empowering women through the "Shakti" scheme, which enables free bus travel for women across the state. She hailed this day as a significant milestone in the history of Karnataka. The Sakthi Yojana, launched on this occasion, is set to become a model for the entire country. Laxmi Hebbalkar highlighted that this initiative would greatly benefit working women who commute daily.
She also assured that all the promised schemes would be effectively implemented by the given deadline.

Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Jayaprakash Hegde, the chairperson of the Karnataka State Permanent Backward Classes Commission, MLC Manjunath Bhandary, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M, Superintendent of Police Akshay Machindra and many others were present.
