Udupi: "The CEO of Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Prateek Bayal, has instructed booth-level officials (BLOs) to distribute voter serial number slips directly to voters' doorsteps, ensuring seamless participation in the upcoming elections. Emphasizing the importance of ethical voting, Bayal urged officials to raise awareness among citizens, emphasizing the significance of their participation and cautioning against any undue influences. Stressing the role of every citizen in strengthening democracy, he called for concerted efforts to achieve 100% voter turnout in the April 26 polls for the Udupi-Chikmagaluru Lok Sabha constituency.

Bayal also underscored the importance of ensuring basic facilities at polling booths, particularly for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and women voters. Highlighting the Election Commission of India's provision for home voting for those above 85 years old, he emphasized the need to facilitate their participation.

To address previous low polling percentages, Bayal urged for focused SVEEP activities in these areas to encourage higher voter turnout. He further emphasized the necessity of spreading awareness about the voting process and encouraged officials to demonstrate the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to the public.

Additionally, Bayal informed citizens about the online tools available for checking voter registration status and applying for inclusion in the voter list. The meeting was attended by Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Radhakrishna Adiga, DHO Dr. I P Gadad, DDPI Ganapathi, Women and Child Welfare Deputy Director Shyamala C K, and others."
