Houses for homeless approved: 367 homes sanctioned for Uttara Kannada, including Bhatkal – Says MP Kageri

Bhatkal: According to a press release issued by Uttara Kannada MP Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, the district has received the highest allocation of houses under the central government's Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme for the rural homeless this time.

The press release stated that lists of beneficiaries will be prepared by all gram panchayats, and the MP urged eligible homeless individuals to take full advantage of this opportunity.

The number of houses sanctioned for each taluk in the district is as follows:

Karwar – 3, Ankola – 12, Bhatkal – 36, Dandeli – 16, Haliyal – 28, Honnavar – 39, Kumta – 23, Mundgod – 53, Siddapur – 52, Sirsi – 45, Supha – 0, Yellapur – 62.

In total, 367 houses have been approved for Uttara Kannada district under the scheme.

Expressing his gratitude, MP Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri extended special thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Minister of Housing for granting an increased number of houses to the district. He further urged gram panchayats to expedite the selection process and ensure that the houses reach the rural poor without delays.
