Honnavar: Tahsildar Maruti Naim stated that right to vote is given to every citizen, and the same should be used to strengthen democratic system.

He was speaking after flagging off voters’ awareness rally held in Honnavar on Wednesday.

Deputy Tahsildar Satish Gouda stated that so far 1,200 eligible physically challenged persons have been identified in the taluk.

He informed that there is still time for those for those who do not have their names on voters’ list, to apply and include their names in the list.

The rally’s main focus was to create awareness among the physically challenged persons to cast their votes, and to highlight the steps taken by the administration to extend all help necessary for them to cast their votes.

The rally began from the Town Panchayat, and culminated at Tahsildar office. The officials from various departments and students took part in the rally.
