Karwar: Uttar Kannada DC S S Nakul has asked the citizens to cast their votes without fail. He said that the Constitution has given voting rights to every citizen. If anyone wants to protect their rights as per the law, they must follow their duties. Voters should exercise their franchise compulsorily. "Every person should actively take part in voting, and be an active part of democracy", he said.

Speaking further, he added that voters should not be lured by materialistic things. While casting their votes, voters should not consider one’s caste, religion, and race.

Every person in the State should exercise their right to vote on May 12 and perform their duty. By doing so, all should co-operate to strengthen the democracy, he said.
