Sirsi: Unable to repay Rs. 1 lakh loan, a 75-year-old farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide at his farm in Guddanapur village near Banavasi in Sirsi taluk on Wednesday. He had taken loan from his relatives and friends.

The deceased has been identified as Ramappa Naik, who had owned a small piece of land. He consumed pesticide in the morning at around 6 am.

Though he was rushed to nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
