Bhatkal: The state government has taken a significant step by offering five gunta to each farmer who lost their land during the construction of the proposed Ankola Airport.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah conducted a meeting in Bengaluru to assess the project's progress concerning land acquisition and various infrastructure for the upcoming airport in Ankola, located approximately 90 kilometers from Bhatkal.

In a media briefing, Uttara Kannada district incharge minister Mankal Vaidya announced that during this meeting, it was decided to allocate five gunta of land to the affected farmers. The decision also ensures that alternative land is provided to those who have lost their properties, with compensation distributed equally without discrimination among the affected individuals.
