Ankola: The Hattigeri village of Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district witnessed a tragedy when a father and his two sons drowned in the river on Sunday noon, April 8.

The deceased are Ramesh Ambiga (50), and his two sons Ravi Ambiga (18) and Naveen Ambiga (15).

According to the sources, it is gathered that the tragedy took place when the trio had gone for fishing in the afternoon in a boat. They drowned as the boat in which they were fishing capsized. However, the body of Naveen and Ravi has been recovered couple of hours after the incident, while Ramesh's body was recovered today morning. 

A case stands registered in Ankola police station and further investigations are on.
