Mangaluru: An elderly man was found dead at his resident at Bolar here on 27th January, Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Eshwar Poojari, aged 76.
According to sources, Eshwar’s 40-year-old son Ramesh who is a lorry driver by profession used to come home drunk most of the time. Ramesh had reportedly tried to stab his father under the influence of alcohol after they had a quarrel on Friday night.
It has been learnt that, Eshwar was deeply hurt by his son’s behaviour and ended his life on the same night in anguish by hanging to the ceiling.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at Barker police station and further investigations are being conducted.
