Bhatkal: Along with rest of the country, the people of Bhatkal also celebrated Holi, the festival of colours with great enthusiasm on 2nd March, Friday.
The festival of colours was celebrated gusto and bonhomie with as clothes were dyed with myriad hues as hugs and embraces were exchanged.
People, both men and women, old and young as well as rich and poor were seen smearing coloured powder and sprinkling water on each another.
With fun and frolic in its usual grandeur and danced to the beats of drums, students in various school and colleges also celebrated.
The celebration went off peacefully and there were no untoward incidents and security was provided all over the taluk by the police.
