Karwar: Muslims celebrated Eid Milad-Un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him), by taking out procession in the city here, on Saturday.

The procession, which was flagged off at Jamia Masjid, witnessed hundreds of  people congregating with zeal of brotherhood and love and enthusiastically taking part in the religious festivities.

Religious leaders recalled the life, practices and teachings of the Prophet Muhammed , in their discourses to the community people on the auspicious occasion.

The festive occosaion also saw the people making arrangements for distribution of water and cold drinks among the public to mark the joyous occasion.

The procession that was taken across the city finally culminated near Kajubagh Mahasati auditorium.

MLA Satish Sail greeted the Muslim community enroute when the procession was heading towards Kajubagh.

Congress leader Shambhu Shetty was also present and greeted the fellow Muslims on the festive occasion.
