Karwar: Driver, cleaner escaped with minor injuries after a fish-laden truck in which they were traveling fell into the ditch and then toppled near London bridge NH-66 in Karwar on the late night of Tuesday.

The injured driver has been identified as Umar Shaikh of Ratnagiri, while the Cleaner is identified as Sujan Shittap.

Sources informed that the accident happened when the speeding truck was heading towards Ratnagiri from Kerala. The driver lost the control of the vehicle, which as a result fell into the ditch.

As the news spread, traffic police rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations. The truck was then taken out.
