Bhatkal: A fisherman at work died after he slipped and fell into the sea while disengaging a rope stuck into boat's fan here at Bunder in Bhatkal on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Manjunath Somayya Moger (48), a resident of Mundalli in Bhatkal.

He was working in a boat belonging to Keshav Moger. As the information about his drowning spread, police and locals in huge number gathered on the spot. The body was recovered and shifted to govt hospital for post-mortem.

Manjunath is survived by a wife.
