Kumta: As many as five people were injured after the car in which they were traveling in met with a head-on collision with the lorry and as a result fell into a ditch. The incident happened on 21st October, Saturday on Betkuli NH-66 on the outskirts of Kumta.

The injured were identified as  Ramayya, Rajesh, Ramanna, P Mahesh and Nagaraj. All are said to be the residents of Doddapura of Haasan.

Sources informed that the incident happened when the victims were returning to their native after completing their visit to Goa. They were immediately rushed to Kumta govt hospital for treatments.

As the information was alerted, police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations. A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
